BENOA — The evacuation process of the captain of the Star Gina 2 GR Ship lasted until evening, Tuesday (13/10/2020). Approximately 3 hours of sailing, the joint SAR team finally arrived at the intercept location at 17.45 WITA. However, due to the condition of the high square KN SAR Arjuna 229 could not dock with the hull. It is too risky if the ships approach each other, because there can be a collision or collision that endangers safety.
At 18.30 WITA, Basarnas Bali moved the RIB (rigid inflatable boat) to the meeting position, namely in the Badung Strait. One hour after that the SAR team managed to approach the Star Gina 2 GR Ship, and then the victim was evacuated. In the statement of Gede Darmada, S.E., M.AP. said that when the victim was evacuated, the victim could not respond, looking pale and blue. "Earlier in the process the victim was brought to the RIB with the help of a rope, his body was wrapped in a blanket to the head and tied to a stretcher. According to the team involved, he explained that the victim's condition had no response, looked pale and blue," he explained.
The team carried out the evacuation very carefully so that the position of the victim remained stable, especially the condition of the square at that time was quite difficult. It was only around 20:15 WIT that the victim was at the RIB and then moved to Benoa Harbor.
"Upon arrival at Benoa Harbor, we handed over the victim to the Benoa KKP for an examination, so the medical personnel will find out how the victim's condition will be," Darmada concluded. The ambulance of BIMC Hospital, which was on standby at Benoa Harbor, immediately took the victim to Sanglah Hospital. During the SAR operation, 25 personnel from Basarnas Bali involved 25 personnel, Lanal Denpasar, Bali Police Directorate of Water Police, Benoa SROP, Benoa Harbor Immigration, Benoa Harbor KKP, Bali Province Covid Task Force, VTS Benoa and Tama Samudra Ship Agent.
As previously reported, the Star Gina 2 GR Ship requested evacuation assistance for its captain on behalf of Geneper Oledan (50) who is a Philippine national. The Liberian-flagged cargo ship departed from Manila to Port Hedlan. (ay / hms dps)
